WE NEED YOUR HELP!

Maurice Elfeke, a French/American citizen residing in France, President of SOS Child Abduction and father of Christopher (8) and Alexander (4) abducted to Germany in 1998, has been arrested today in Germany. He had a court hearing this morning in Neustadt near Hanover; his wife was requesting to change the family name of their two children against Maurice's will.

Maurice was accompanied by a TV reporter with a camera and a member of SOS Child Abduction. As soon as the cars pulled over, Maurice was taken away by a dozen of plain-clothes police officers. The witnesses have been pushed away.

After the hearing, Maurice has been taken in custody by the police officers. We have had no news since.  

We have called tonight the police stations of Neustadt and Garbsen, the police headquarters of the state of Hanover, the prison and the ministry of Justice in Berlin. Maurice is nowhere to be found! Germany not only devours our (its) children but now their fathers!

Maurice's wife abducted the children from France to Germany in 1998. A German judge ruled in favor of the mother. Once again, a German judge has protected the abducting parent. The habitual residence of the family has always been France.

In most countries of the world, parental kidnapping is a crime and kidnappers are prosecuted. Germany protects them! Maurice and his wife are still not divorced.

Maurice has last seen his children in 1998 and never since because the German ministry of Justice and the Jugendamt [Youth Welfare Office] support the abducting mother.  

According to what we know, Maurice is held for contempt of Court. He supposedly has not appeared and has not asked to be excused at a court hearing in Germany on October 30, 2000.

We already know about the intimidation policies of Germany. They are the result of a nation that produces thousands of orphans every year. Two million children never see their father or their foreign parent in Germany.

The whole world has a different conception of the welfare and the love for a child; we know that some day these German and binational children will thank us for our fight. This is why we will not give up!

The next action is July 13, 2001, in Berlin for an unlimited hunger strike conducted by American and French left-behind parents who have not seen their children for years. (latest scheduled date)

This could be the actual reason why Maurice Elfeke is detained tonight in Germany.

Please relay this message as urgently as possible to the media. If we cannot find out where Maurice Elfeke is tonight, why, and for how long, maybe the press will be able to.

Word is that Maurice Elfeke has a hard time in jail.  He is not in good circumstances.  He is refusing all intake of food and liquids.  The German jailers don't permit their prisoners that freedom.   Somewhere along the line they'll begin to force-feed Maurice.
   Let's hope that Maurice will emerge with his spirit and body intact.

Wir bitten um ihre Mithilfe

Maurice Elfeke, ein amerikanischer Bürger der in Frankreich lebt, hatte heute morgen einen Gerichtstermin beim Amtsgericht Neustadt am Rübenberger bei Hannover. Es ging um die Namensänderung seiner Kinder gegen seinen Willen.

Gekommen ist er mit einem Kameraman des zweiten französischen Fernsehens und einem Mitglied seines Vereins. Kaum waren die Autos vor dem Gerichtsgebäude geparkt, wurde Maurice Elfeke von Zivilbeamten abgeführt. Die Zeugen wurden kurzer Hand zur Seite geräumt. Im Anschluß an den Gerichtstermin wurde er dann von Polizeibeamten in zivil abgeführt. Maurice ist seitdem unauffindabar.

Wir haben heute abend bei der Polizeiwache in Neustadt, bei der Polizeiwache in Garbsen, beim Polizeipräsidium in Hannover, bei Innensminsiterium in Hannover, beim Bundesjustizministerium in Berlin angerufen. Der Man ist einfach unauffindbar. Deutschland verschluckt Kinder und jetzt auch noch Väter.

Die Ehefrau von Maurice Elfeke hat 1998 die Kinder des Paares nach Deutschland entführt. Ein deutscher Richter gab damals der guten Frau Recht.  Wie üblich beschützte der deutsche Richter einmal mehr die Entführerin. Die ganze Welt verfolgt strafrechtlich Entführer, Deutschland schützt Entführer. Das Paar ist bisher nicht geschieden. Maurice Elfeke durfte seit 1998 seine Kinder mit Komplizenschaft der deutschen Justiz und Nebenstellen (Jugendamt) für die Frau nicht mehr sehen.

Ihm wird nach unserer Informationen vorgeworfen an an einem Termin am 30.10.00 nach §230 Abs 2.2 in Deutschland unentschuldigt ferngeblieben zu sein. Wir erinnern danach daß das Ehepaar bis zur Entführung der Kinder durch die Mutter ihren Wohnsitz in Frankreich hatte.

Diese Einschüchterungsversuche des deutschen Staatsapparates verstehen wir. Es ist das Ergebnis einer Nation deren Rechtsprechung 1000e von Halbwaisen im Jahr produziert. 2 mio Kinder sehen ihre Väter in Deutschland nie. Die ganze Welt und wir haben eine andere Auffassung von Kindeswohl und Kinderliebe. Es muß deutschen Richtern nicht unbedingt gefallen. Wir wissen, deutsche und binationale Kinder werden uns dafür später dankbar sein. Daher werden wir uns nicht so schnell aufgeben. Der nächste Termin ist in Berlin am 13. Juli 2001 geplant. Dort starten französische und amerikanische Eltern, die ihre Kinder seit Jahren nicht mehr gesehen haben, einen unbefristeten Hungerstreik. (Der genaue Tag)

Es mag vielleicht der Grund sein, warum Herr Elfeke heute in Deutschland ins Gewahrsam genommen wurde.
